Kung Pao Chicken

Such a long time break from kitchen and now i’m back! Glad to be active in kitchen, as usual. Today, as there is no class on Saturday, i quickly plan what to cook. Find Kung Pao Chicken recipe on one of youtube videos, so it comes to my list.

Anyway, this is my first-try, then i learned several things. Those hot oil that spike towards me while adding black peppercorn as well as the combined sauce. WOW, it scared me! Well, the result is worth it though.

Let’s check how to make!


Ingredients

  • 4 dried red chili
  • 1 red chili
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 cm ginger

For marinated chicken

  • Chicken breast (200gr)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Five spice powder
  • Corn starch

For kung pao sauce

  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp dark soy sauce

Step-by-Step

  1. In a hot pan or wok, give 3 to 4 tablespoon of oil and add the black peppercorn. Stir-fry for 3 minutes and set aside the peppercorn.
  2. Add the dried red chili, sliced garlic. Stir-fry for few minutes. Then, add the sauce and let it simmer. Set aside.
  3. In the same pan, give some oil. Add minced garlic, sliced ginger and red chili. Stir-fry for few minutes.
  4. Then add in the marinated chicken, stir-fry again until it cooked.
  5. Last, pour the previous sauce over the chicken. Mix well for a minute.
  6. Finish. Enjoy it while hot.
