Potato Latkes

Yea well, this potato pancakes or known as potato latkes [laht-kuh] which given by European Jews the famous Yiddish name as latkes, is actually a dish for Hanukkah celebration. But now it is repurposed as a holiday food.

Latke here means small pancake. So, it is a Potato pancakes or Potato cakes, that fried in oil. If you’d like to know more, click here.

Another free day is what i always desired. During my prepare-for-exam-holiday, even not so holiday, i took my time and always thinking about what to cook or exactly, what to post. Potato Latkes is one that exist in my list. Here we go!

Ingredients

  • 450 grams of potatoes
  • Half onion
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt & pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/4 cup Cornstarch
  • Oregano (additional)

Note : once you grated done the potatoes and onion, squeeze all the liquid as much as possible.
